Third Inuit Institute, 2010

The third session of the Inuit Institute for Research and Planning was held from November 1 – 12, 2010. The nine returning members of the Inuit Institute were treated to a small and intimate course located on the top floor of the state-of-the art Desmarais building in the University of Ottawa campus. This setting allowed for a more personalized approach than with past institutes. Course participants built on their previous experienceand also presented material from health-related projects in their home communities. Participants also identified and discussed key health and social issues in their community and designed a research project from start to finish, to gain practical understanding of the research process and methods and how it feeds into policy and decision making. The groups presented and discussed their research projects with their trainers and colleagues.
